【Nesma Japan tour 2017】
~ENTA OMRI Project~
“Enta Omri” is a dance creation paying heartfelt and moving homage to the majestic diva of Arabic music, Umm Kulthum.
In this performance Nesma relates the artistic journey and life of the singer Umm Kulthum. The show, presented with the Nesma Al-Andalus Dance Company, is built on theatrical foundations: the wonderful musical accompaniment, the screening of archive footage and the elegant and moving dances. Together they evoke on the stage the image and emotions which Umm Kulthum has engraved on the collective memory of the Arab world.
The ENTA OMRI Japan Tour will take place in Autumn 2017. On October 9th in Hiroshima, and October 15th in Tokyo. Prior to the ENTA OMRI Japan tour, a show with live music will take place on June 29th in Tokyo followed by workshops in both Tokyo and Hiroshima. Dancers who will participate in the October shows will be selected from the workshop participants. As well as auditions for the shows, the workshops are also open to dancers for purely educational purposes.
The dancers selected for the shows will be part of the Al-Andalus Dance Company Japan directed by Nesma. They will receive training and will perform in the shows with a live orchestra. They will share a unique and unforgettable experience, and will also enhance their dance career.
