The more years go by, the more I realize how lucky I have been.
Ibrahim Aakef, is a true legend . In his studio in West El Balad, Cairo, he gives me classes every day, and how I enjoy!
He dances and I follow him, we repeat and repeat the choreography. In the class there is a very old little mirror but it seems useless, he never looks at himself. I follow him, I copy his footsteps.
How can he know when I’m wrong? Does he listen the steps? Yes, he hears my steps.
And he smokes and smokes without a break, drink coffee after coffee without stopping. And me, exhausted. I’m trying to follow him.
We are preparing new choreographies !!
